Round 1 - Bahrain

Fastest lap in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Max Verstappen starts the season off with a pole position, and Charles Leclerc is alongside him. Disappointment for Hamilton as he starts P9, and more disappointment for the Alpine team as their cars start P19 and P20.

Red Bull have their dream start with a 1-2 finish in Bahrain, and Max Verstappen wins by over 20 seconds to his team mate. Carlos Sainz completes the podium, Charles Leclerc finishes P4, George Russell P5, Lando Norris P6, Lewis Hamilton P7, Oscar Piastri P8, Fernando Alonso P9 and Lance Stroll gets the final point in P10, despite facing the wrong way after a collsion on lap 1. Zhou Guanyu finishes P11, Kevin Magnussen P12, Daniel Ricciardo P13, Yuki Tsunoda P14, Alex Albon P15, Nico Hulkenberg P16, Esteban Ocon P17, Pierre Gasly P18, Valtteri Bottas P19 and Logan Sargeant finished in P20. 

There were no retirements for the first race of the season, but the yellow flags did make a few appearances.

Round 2 - Saudi Arabia

Pole in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Winner in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Max Verstappen wins the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with his teammate Sergio Perez alongside in P2. Charles Leclerc completed the podium in P3, Oscar Piastri finished P4, Fernando Alonso P5, George Russell P6, Oliver Bearman had a spectacular debut race to score points and finished P7, Lando Norris P8, Lewis Hamilton P9 and Nico Hulkenberg completed the top 10. Alex Albon narrowly missed out on a points finish in P11, Kevin Magnussen P12, Esteban Ocon P13, Logan Sargeant P14, Yuki Tsunoda P15, Daniel Ricciardo P16, Valtteri Bottas P17 and Zhou Guanyu was the last finisher in P18.

There were 2 retirements:

Lance Stroll retired after crashing, bringing out the safety car.

Pierre Gasly retired very quickly after reporting issues on the formation lap.

Round 3 - Australia

Pole in 2024: Max Verstappen 

Winner in 2024: Carlos Sainz

Carlos Sainz wins the Australian Grand Prix as Max Verstappen has a shock retirement among an action-packed race. Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris complete the podium in P2 and P3. Oscar Piastri finished P4, Sergio Perez P5, Lance Stroll P6, Yuki Tsunoda P7 after a very good weekend, Fernando Alonso P8 after a 20-second post race penalty for a dangerous move, Nico Hulkenberg P9 and Kevin Magnussen completed the top 10. Alex Albon finished P11 after having to race in Logan Sargeant's car as he damages his own car during free practise. Daniel Ricciardo finished P12, Pierre Gasly P13, Valtteri Bottas P14, Zhou Guanyu P15 and Esteban Ocon was the last finisher.

There were 3 retirements - Max Verstappen retired for the first time in 2 years with a brake issue, Lewis Hamilton with an engine failure, and George Russell after crashing on the last lap of the race.

As mentioned earlier, Logan Sargeant was unable to race this weekend due to Williams having no spare chassis and Alex Albon's car being too damaged to repair. 

Round 4 - Japan

Pole in 2024: Max Verstappen.

 Winner in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Max Verstappen is back on top form as he wins an action packed Japanese Grand Prix. His teammate Sergio Perez makes it a 1-2 for Red Bull and Carlos Sainz gains another podium. Charles Leclerc finished P4, Lando Norris P5, Fernando Alonso P6, George Russell P7, Oscar Piastri P8, Lewis Hamilton P9 and Yuki Tsunoda collects the final point at his home race. Nico Hulkenberg crosses the line in P11, Lance Stroll P12, Kevin Magnussen P13, Valtteri Bottas P14, Esteban Ocon P15, Pierre Gasly P16 and Logan Sargeant was the last finisher in P17.

There were 3 retirements - Alex Albon and Daniel Ricciardo crashed out on lap 1, causing a red flag and Zhou Guanyu retired with a gearbox issue.

Round 5 - China

Pole in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Winner in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Max Verstappen wins an exciting Chinese Grand Prix, the first race held here since 2019. Lando Norris finished in P2 and Sergio Perez completes the podium. Charles Leclerc finished in P4, Carlos Sainz P5, George Russell P6, Fernando Alonso P7, Oscar Piastri P8, Lewis Hamilton P9 with a difficult start to the season and Nico Hulkenberg completes the top 10. Esteban Ocon finished P11, Alex Albon P12, Pierre Gasly P13, Zhou Guanyu P14, Lance Stroll P15, Kevin Magnussen finished in P16 and Logan Sargeant was the final finisher in P17.

There were 3 retirements:

Valtteri Bottas retired with an apparent engine issue. The safety car was brought out after difficulties with removing his car from the side of the track.

Yuki Tsunoda was forced to retire after Kevin Magnussen tipped him into a spin. Magnussen received a 10 second penalty for this move.

Daniel Ricciardo retired after Lance Stroll ran into the back of him just before the safety car restart. Stroll was also given a 10 second time penalty.

Round 6 - Miami

Pole in 2023: Max Verstappen.

Winner in 2024: Lando Norris.

Lando Norris has a sensational drive to take his long-awaited first victory in Formula 1. Max Verstappen finished in P2 and Charles Leclerc completed the podium. Sergio Perez finished in P4, Carlos Sainz P5, Lewis Hamilton P6, Yuki Tsunoda picked up good points for the RB team in P7, George Russell P8, Fernando Alonso P9 and Esteban Ocon completed the top 10. Nico Hulkenberg finished P11, Pierre Gasly P12, Oscar Piastri P13, Zhou Guanyu P14, Daniel Ricciardo P15, Valtteri Bottas P16, Lance Stroll P17, Alex Albon P18 and Kevin Magnussen was the last finisher in P19.

There was one retirement:

Logan Sargeant crashed out on lap 27, bringing out the saefty car and earning Kevin Magnussen a 10 second penalty for causing a collision.

Round 7 -  Italy - Imola

Pole in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Winner in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Max Verstappen returns to the top step of the podium, fighting off a late charge from Lando Norris who finished in P2. The final place on the podium was claimed by Charles Leclerc, exciting the Ferrari fans. Oscar Piastri finished in P4, Carlos Sainz P5, Lewis Hamilton P6, George Russell P7, Sergio Perez finished P8 after a difficult qualifying, Lance Stroll P9, Yuki Tsunoda P10 yet a lap behind, Nico Hulkenberg P11, Kevin Magnussen P12, Daniel Ricciardo P13, Esteban Ocon P14, Zhou Guanyu P15, Pierre Gasly P16, Logan Sargeant P17 and Valtteri Bottas finished in P18 in what has turned out to be a very difficult season so far.

There were 2 retirements:

Fernando Alonso retired in the late stages of the Grand Prix after a very difficult race. He officially classified in P19 as he had completed enough of the race.

Alex Albon was forced to retire his Williams car in the earlier stages of the race.

Round 8 - Monaco

Pole in 2024: Charles Leclerc.

Winner in 2024: Charles Leclerc.

2024 has become a year of firsts as Charles Leclerc wins his first home Grand Prix in Monaco. Oscar Piastri finished in P2 and Carlos Sainz completed the podium. Lando Norris finished in P4, George Russell P5, Max Verstappen P6 after a disappointing qualifying, Lewis Hamilton P7, Yuki Tsunoda P8, Alex Albon P9 picking up valuable points for Williams, Pierre Gasly picked up the final point in P10, Fernando Alonso P11, Daniel Ricciardo P12, Valtteri Bottas P13, Lance Stroll P14, Logan Sargeant P15 and Zhou Guanyu was the last finisher in P16.

There weren't many overtakes in the race, but there were four retirements:

Sergio Perez, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Mganussen all came together on lap 1, causing the red flags to come out and all three cars to retire.

Esteban Ocon also retired on lap 1 after heavy contact with his teammate Pierre Gasly.

Round 9 - Canada

Pole in 2024: George Russell.

Winner in 2024: Max Verstappen.

George Russell takes pole, with Max Verstappen setting exactly the same time in P2. This is only the second time that the gap between pole and P2 is 0.000 .

Max Verstappen returns to his winning ways in an exciting wet-dry race, with plenty of accidents adding to the atmosphere. Lando Norris narrowly misses out on the win with only fine margins between the two. George Russell earns the first podium of the year for Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton just behind in P4. Oscar Piastri finished P5, Fernando Alonso P6, Lance Stroll P7, Daniel Ricciardo picking up more points in P8, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon complete the top 10 with points for alpine after an eventful weekend for the team last time in Monaco. Nico Hulkenberg finished P11, Kevin Magnussen P12, Valtteri Bottas P13, Yuki Tsunoda P14 and Zhou Guanyu was the last finisher in P15.

There were 5 retirements:

It was a double DNF for Ferrari after a disastrous qualifying - Charles Leclerc had power unit issues and Carlos Sainz was forced to retire after losing control and hitting Alex Albon, who also had to retire.

Logan Sargeant crashed out of the race, bringing out the safety car.

Sergio Perez was the final driver to retire as he spun and hit the barriers. He picked up major damage to the rear wing yet remained on track and drove to the pits. He has picked up a 3-place grid penalty for Spain due to this.

Round 10 - Spain

Pole in 2023: Max Verstappen.

Winner in 2023: Max Verstappen.

Lando Norris takes pole position for only the second time in his career and Max Verstappen starts alongside.

Max Verstappen wins the Spanish Grand Prix, with Lando Norris just 2 seconds behind and feeling disappointed with the race. Lewis Hamilton takes his first podium of the year in P3, George Russell takes P4 after a spectacular start meant he led the first lap, Charles Leclerc finished P5, Carlos Sainz P6 at his home race, Oscar Piastri P7, Sergio perez scored points for the first time since Imola, Pierre Gasly P9 and Esteban Ocon completed the top 10 with a double-points finish for Alpine. Nico Hulkenberg finished P11, Fernando Alonso P12 after a dissapointing home race, Zhou Guanyu P13, Lance Stroll P14, Daniel Ricciardo P15, Valtteri Bottas P16, Kevin Magnussen P17, Alex Albon P18, Yuki Tsunoda P19 and Logan Sargeant finished in P20.

For the second consecutive Spanish Grand Prix, there were no retirements.

Round 11 - Austria

Pole in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Sprint winner in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Winner in 2024: George Russell.

Max Verstappen wins the sprint race with the two McLaren cars of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris taking second and third after a tight race at the front. 

George Russell takes a shock victory in Austria after a dramatic late collision between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. Oscar Piastri takes P2 and Carlos Sainz completes the podium in P3. Lewis Hamilton finishes P4 as Mercedes pick up valuable points, Max Verstappen takes P5 after forcing to pit due to a puncture gained in the collision with Norris. He also picked up a 5-second penalty, but this did not make a difference to his overall position. Nico Hulkenberg finished P6, Sergio Perez P7, Kevin Magnussen P8 with double-points for Haas, Daniel Ricciardo P9 and Pierre Gasly completes the top 10. Charles Leclerc finished P11 after a difficult race after an early pit stop on lap 1 caused him to lose position, Esteban Ocon finished P12, Lance Stroll P13, Yuki Tsunoda P14, Alex Albon P15, Valtteri Bottas P16, Zhou Guanyu P17, Fernando Alonso P18 on a difficult day and Logan Sargeant was the last finisher.

There was one retirement:

Lando Norris retired after the aforementioned collision with Verstappen. The pit stop took a long time and Norris eventually made the decision to retire. 

Round 12 - United Kingdom

Pole in 2024: George Russell.

Winner in 2024: Lewis Hamilton.

A great weekend for the Brits as Lewis Hamilton wins the British Grand Prix -  his first F1 win since 2021. Max Verstappen settles for P2 and we had a second brit on the podium with Lando Norris in P3. Oscar Piastri finished P4 in a good weekend for McLaren, Carlos Sainz P5, Nico Hulkenberg takes a shock P6 and well deserved points for Haas, Lance Stroll finished P7, Fernando Alonso P8, Alex Albon P9 with much needed points for Williams, Yuki Tsunoda P10, Logan Sargeant P11, Kevin Magnussen P12, Daniel Ricciardo P13, Charles Leclerc finished a disappointing P14 after pitting at the wrong times, Valtteri Bottas P15, Esteban Ocon P16, Sergio Perez also had a disapointing race in P17, Zhou Guanyu was the final finisher.

There were 2 retirements:

Pierre Gasly retired after the formation lap due to a suspected gearbox issue

Pole-sitter George Russell retired with a water system issue.

Round 13 - Hungary

Pole in 2024: Lando Norris.

 Winner in 2024: Oscar Piasrti.

Oscar Piastri takes a controversial first Grand Prix victory as Lando Norris is forced to remove his 5-second race lead and give up the win. Lando Norris finished P2, Lewis Hamilton P3 after a recent return of good form. Charles Leclerc takes P4, Max Verstappen P5, Carlos Sainz P6 in a good race for Ferrari, Sergio Perez P7, George Russell P8, Yuki Tsunoda picks up more points for RB in P9 and Lance Stroll is the final points finisher in P10. Fernando Alonso finished P11, Daniel Ricciardo P12, Nico Hulkenberg P13, Alex Albon P14, Kevin Magnussen P15, Valtteri Bottas P16, Logan Sargeant P17, Esteban Ocon P18 and Zhou Guanyu was the final finisher in P19.

There was one retirement:

Pierre Gasly retired with a suspected hydrauluc leak

Round 14 - Belgium 

Pole in 2024: Max Verstappen.

Winner in 2024: Lewis Hamilton.

George Russell won the Belgian Grand Prix, but post-race measurements showed an underweight car, resulting in disqualification. 

Lewis Hamilton inherits the win of the Belgian Grand Prix, continuing the good form of Mercedes. Oscar Piastri is bumped up to P2, Charles Leclerc P3. Max Verstappen finishes P4, Lando Norris P5, Carlos Sainz P6, Sergio Perez P7, Fernando Alonso P8, Esteban Ocon P9, Daniel Ricciardo is promoted to the final points position with the disqualification, Lance Stroll P11, Alex Albon P12, Pierre Gasly P13, Kevin Magnussen P14, Valtteri Bottas P15, Yuki Tsunoda P16, Logan Sargeant P17, Nico Hulkenberg is the final finisher in P18.

There were 2 non-finishers:

George Russell was disqualified post race, as mentioned above

Zhou Guanyu retired with a hydraulic issue.

Round 15 - Netherlands

Pole in 2024: Lando Norris.

Lando Norris takes his second F1 victory, with nearly 23 seconds to Max Verstappen in P2. Charles Leclerc completes the podium, with Oscar Piastri P4, Carlos Sainz P5, Sergio Perez P6 showing improved form, George Russell P7, Lewis Hamilton P8, Pierre Gasly P9 and Fernando Alonso takes the final point.
